According to God's Plan

Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and he said:

“Who am I, Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?"

1 Chronicles 17:16 (NIV)

When we have a project that is close to our hearts, we give ourselves totally to carry it out and see it succeed. It is always disappointing, after months of planning, considerable expenses, meetings and fruitful efforts, to see that everything collapses before our eyes without being able to compensate for all that we have lost. Often, instead of seeing that our project is different from the one that God has for us, we express our anger and abandon everything.

David had such an experience with God when he had in mind the project of building the temple of God. For him, such a great initiative had to please God and lead Him to make all the necessary resources available to him. As a king, David had the right motivation, the ideal position to form such a project, but unfortunately God's plan did not match David's expectations. He could just like us, get angry and believe that God is not with him at all, yet he chose to be grateful to God for bringing him to where he is in his life.

How many times have you considered God’s rejection a blessing and thanked Him for all He has done in your life instead of believing that He does not pay attention to your desires? Know that God sees beyond your eyes. Your plans may lead you where God would not want you to go, so He will make sure that you act according to His plan for you. The next time He rejects your plan, follow David’s example, step into His presence and thank Him for what He has already done in your life.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
