Finding Strength In Weakness

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)

Today more than ever, christians are held to incredibly high spiritual standards of near perfection that causing us to hide our weaknesses under the rug and not let anyone know about our failures or shortcomings. So we try to put on a false strength but unfortunately we can’t hold it up forever. We are afraid of our own weaknesses because we don't want people to see them. If they are so bad as most of us think, then why Paul says that we should boast about them?

He doesn't say that we should be proud of them to the point of boasting or living by them. What he really means, is like we shoud rather be aware of our weaknesses (what prevents us from moving in the spiritual) in order that God might come in and support us. He knew that was the only way God would equip and empower him for better use.

When we are rejected, going through hardship, being persecuted or dealing with difficulties that's when we are weak. The strength that God will provide in our weaknesses is much greater that what we may think, for when we’re weak, we’re strong.

So we should not try to hide or avoid our weaknesses, but rather, embrace them with faith allowing God to strengthen us in ways we could never have imagined.

May the Lord continue to keep and strengthen you.

Do you mean that we have to share our personal weakness to people, because christians today when they know about your life, instead of helping or encourage you they are more concerned with criticizing you and rejoicing in your misfortune. I don't think it is a good idea. your weakness is yours.
