In the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time.
Titus 1:2 (NIV)
Many Christians don't wait on God because their hope is in other things than what God has promised us. They reduce God's promises to material things and their futile desires. They completely ignore that God created us to live in his glory, and with that glory comes eternal life.
God might abandon us or pour out his wrath on us because of our sins. But, in his love, he saved us by grace, by sending his son to die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Look carefully at what the verse tells us, it speaks of the hope of eternal life that God has promised us. Which means we have to focus on that promise, because God doesn't lie.
I want to ask you this question today: What is your hope? If it's based on material things and the lusts of the world, then you're missing out on God's promises. If, on the other hand, it is in Jesus Christ through whom salvation and eternal life have been made possible, then you are exactly where God wants you to be, in His promise. Continue on this path.
