The Lord Your God will put all these curses on your enemies who hate and persecute you.
Deuteronomy 30:7 (NIV)
When God promises to take care of you, He will definitely keep His promise. But that doesn't mean that He won't let you go through difficulties, that you won't face dangers of all kinds, or that you won't have enemies. On the contrary, it's because He knows that you are going to face all this that He promises to take care of you.
Your current situation is no different from that of Israel in the wilderness. They did not choose to enter the wilderness, but God imposed it on them to instruct them and teach them to trust Him. But the other nations, not having understood this, attacked them from all sides to destroy them. God reminds His people what He will do to those who hate and persecute them. All He asks of them is “That you may love Him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.” -Verse 6
If God made this promise to His people in their wilderness, Jesus, for His part, reminds you that He also knows your sufferings in your wilderness and the enemies around you. He reminds you of this when He says, “But I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” -John 15:19. And, to comfort you, a few verses further down He adds: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth." -John 16:13." This is to tell you that whatever wilderness you are going through right now, Jesus knows it and, remember, He will keep His promises to you.
May the grace and the peace of God be with you all.
