Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:1-2 (NIV)
There is not even one condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Those who are born again and sealed by the Spirit of God are free from condemnation. Once God declares someone righteous, no one can accuse or condemn him. But for anyone who does not believe in Jesus as Savior, they are already condemned, simply because they have chosen not to believe in Christ.
Because of what Christ has done for us, we can stand with confidence and say that we are in Him and He is in us. Although we live in mortal bodies, our spirits have been regenerated. We have been redeemed. Now we have to understand that condemnation or justification by God comes from the choice we make. God gives us free will to choose to be justified or condemned. If we choose Jesus as our Savior and Lord with all our heart, then God will justify us. But if we reject Him, then God will condemn us.
When someone comes to accept Jesus Christ, He becomes a child of God and can never be separated from the love of Christ. As Paul explains in Romans 8:38-39, nothing, not even an individual, can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ. When God says there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, we can be sure of our secure standing in Christ.
This is the kind of message we need to hear preaching in church.
Amen
