Say it With Confidence

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Psalm 91:2 (KJV)

We all meet people who can be kind, courteous and very friendly in their attitude, but who don't trust anyone. When we see them, we tend to believe that they are arrogant and pretentious. Yet when we begin to learn their story, we find that they need us more than we could imagine. But they prefer to distance themselves.

We all have a story or experience that causes us to be vigilant and wary of others. We fear what they can do to us because of our vulnerability. In this psalm, the psalmist talks a lot about God's protection in the face of danger, he believes in His omnipotence. Even if men scare you, you can turn to God for refuge in Him, because He will never abandon you.

Life's blows may discourage you, but know that God knows your limits. He is ready to deliver you and raise you up. But He expects you to call on Him and trust in His promises. Note the assurance of the psalmist when he says that God is his refuge and his fortress. He knows what he will say to the Lord. He will not say it after being delivered, but rather before his deliverancen because he knows which God he serves. You can also say the same thing with confidence.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
