The Defeat of the Accuser

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

Although this verse directly refers to believers in the tribulation period, we are already prey to the attacks and snares of the enemy who does everything to make us guilty before God. He uses every weakness he finds in us to accuse us and destroy our relationship with God. Most often, he uses what he believes is most important to make us vulnerable, as he did with Job, our lives and our possessions.

To silence the accuser and prevent him from building a case against us before the throne of God, we must surrender our lives to God through Jesus Christ. He suffered the cross for us so that we could be freed from our sins and the accusations of our enemy. The fact is that the enemy cannot accuse those whose sins have been forgiven by the blood of Christ through his sacrificial death. It is in Christ that we are righteous before God.

It is really important for you and me to know the importance of God's righteousness. We could never be righteous if it depended on our personal efforts and moral principles, for the enemy would surely confuse us and make us believe in his tricks. But when we lay down our lives to walk in an honest and sincere relationship with Jesus, it gives us a powerful testimony by which we overcome the enemy. He will stop attacking and accusing us because when he does, he attacks God Himself. He who has declared us righteous by the blood of Jesus.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
