Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ..
Acts 17:3 (KJV)
Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. In giving this message, He was speaking directly to His disciples, asking them to go beyond the borders, from city to city, proclaiming and preaching the message of salvation. This is a command that the disciples kept, for we find many accounts of the number of people who came to Christ in the book of Acts.
This command still has its place because the proclamation of Jesus’ disciples has come down to us through the Bible. The Christian who is convinced of his salvation and faith must never be ashamed or afraid to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those around him. Like Paul, he must be willing to explain and demonstrate the foundation of his faith, the crucified and resurrected Christ.
God’s salvation is not just for a small group, but for all humanity, except that many need someone to tell them and teach them about it. Do not be afraid to share the good news. If Christ has chosen you, it is because He wants to use you for the salvation of those who are still far away. Go then and continue the work of the apostles, bringing the gospel to those who need to hear it.
May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
