Understanding the Word of God

During that time there was a major disturbance about the Way.

Acts 19:23 (HCSB)

After explaining the Pythagorean theorem to the whole class, the geometry teacher asks two students to go to the board to demonstrate what they have understood. The first reads the notes in the book to better understand and the second is satisfied with what the teacher said. When they arrive at the board, a discussion begins between them because they both have a different demonstration. This creates confusion for the whole class and immediately two groups are formed, one in favor of the first and the other in favor of the second.

Considering the case of these students, we cannot deny that even today, we have conflicts within our churches. Often, these conflicts do not come from our personal problems, but rather from our differences of opinion and understanding of the word of God. Some understand the Bible according to what is written or from the commentaries, others interpret according to their own desire, in order to live as they want. Which often causes serious disruptions regarding the way and will of God for His people.

Do not think that this is a new fact in our churches, it has always been this way since the early church. However, you can make a difference. When you study the Bible, do it under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, ask Him to guide you and reveal to you the heart of God. Do research, use other versions if possible to have a better understanding of what you read. Ask questions of men and women who are faithful to the word and who put it into practice. Like David, consider the word as the lamp that lights your path.

May the grace and peace of God be with you all.
