The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 12:18 (NIV)
Christians should always speak graciously and wisely whether to correct, instruct or exhort. This blend of grace and wisdom is what pleases God when we speak to others. The words that come out of our mouths are powerful. They can pierce hearts and cause hatred, contempt, anger and offense. They can as well uplift others, strengthening their faith through your encouragement, guidance, and understanding.
God calls us to put aside the use of reckless words that can hurt. Instead, He wants us to use our words with great wisdom and love so that we can be agents of healing, comfort, and grace.
Your speech should be a tree of life for others, remember who you are.
May God bless you all!
For a topic like this, it would be necessary to write a whole book. I like that you kept it short because there is so much to say on it. I read so many books about it, but still the Bible remains the only one book that treats it well.
