What do You Believe in?

Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here."

Exodus 33:15 (NASB)

Most often when we say we have faith, whatever its measure, we direct it towards what we expect from God, namely the result, but not towards God Himself who will grant us this result. We do not see God as The one who will intervene directly according to His will to deliver us, but rather as an assistant in the process of our deliverance.

It is such an attitude on our part that often delays obtaining the result we hope for. God expects us to rely entirely on Him and His favor towards us. Moses gives us the example of faith that we should have in our circumstances. He did not rely on God's powers or ability to act, but rather was interested in God's presence throughout his journey.

I would like to tell you today that your faith should not be based on what you expect from God, nor on what you would like Him to do for you, but rather it should find its strength in God. If you often believe in your efforts to get God's attention to help you, you need to stop immediately God does not need your efforts to help you. He needs you to trust in His promise to care for you in all circumstances.

May the grace and the peace of God be with you all.
